I was walking along the beach in August 2022 and a rhythm and melody turned up in my head.
As I walked in sync with the rhythm I thought about what the melody could be about. I seemed to be about someone seeking my attention - a preacher, a politician, a salesman.
I started to work on the music August 4th and on the lyrics the August 16th.
On one hand the song lyrics are about someone trying to catch your attention, by extraordinary promises and wild statements. On the other hand, it is a play with words – you will notice that all the rhyming words ends with the same syllable: -ion.
The song has 17 different vocal tracks (including choruses), of those four are voice synthesizer based. There are 28 instrument tracks with 24 different instruments.
If you listen to the song, I would like you to first enjoy the rhythm and the different melodies harmonizing together, then listen to the lyrics. They verses are all “serious”, except for in the end, when I confess that all I really want you to do is – dance.
